Rachel A. Pad, Ph.D. (she/her) is a clinical psychologist who obtained her doctorate from The University of Detroit Mercy in 2022. She completed her predoctoral internship in clinical psychology at The State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University where she worked with adults in a variety of clinical settings, including both outpatient mental health and inpatient psychiatry. Dr. Pad has extensive training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and is skilled in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, and conflicts around identity and the experience of self. She has experience helping individuals gain insight into how past experiences impact present functioning and decision making.
Through her work, Dr. Pad places equal emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and the practice of intense listening. Because your unique word choices and use of language are products of you, Dr. Pad feels that paying close attention to what you say will lead to increased self-knowledge, liberation from distress and empowerment to engage in life authentically. She has experience and special interest in working with members of the queer / LGBTQIA+ community.
