Ryan Harms is a clinical social worker who has over a decade of professional experience in assorted social work roles, including in community mental health, supporting individuals with chronic diseases, and providing residential support services. Ryan has experience providing psychotherapy to individuals with an array of concerns including depression, anxiety, adjustment difficulties, complex trauma, and relationship concerns. Ryan has primarily worked with adult individuals, but also has experience providing psychotherapy to adolescents. Ryan’s primary therapeutic orientation is psychodynamic, focusing on helping individuals identify recurring patterns in relationships as well as internal barriers to making desired changes. Ryan is currently in the Advanced Training program in psychodynamic therapy program through the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.
Ryan completed his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan and his master’s in social work, with a concentration in interpersonal practice mental health, at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He has accumulated much of his professional experience working on the West Coast in Seattle, Washington.
